Customs, JICA join forces to boost modernization

The Bureau of Customs has teamed up with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to strengthen its modernization initiatives, particularly through the revival of its laboratory, ensuring improved operations.

During a meeting last Aug. 17, JICA’s Customs Expert Katsu Shigeaki said the Japanese government aid arm is committed to assist the bureau in implementing its modernization projects.

One key area of focus will be the revival of the Philippine Customs Laboratory (PCL), which is essential for improving operational efficiency, the bureau said.
